ABOUT

FLOW LIKE YOU MEAN IT!

SHA-LA is a wellness community with three homes in Berlin — our waterfront studio on the Spree in Kreuzberg, and two more on Kastanienallee in Prenzlauer Berg. What started as a yoga studio has grown into something wider: yoga, Pilates, sound baths, breathwork, wellbeing treatments and, most recently, a dedicated strength training studio.

The thread running through all of it is the same. We want movement to feel like something you look forward to, not something you get through. Whether that means a slow yin class, a barbell under your back, or an hour on a treatment table, it should leave you feeling more like yourself.

More than 90 teachers and coaches work across our studios. They bring different lineages, different training and different stories, and we like it that way — it means there’s a class here for every body and every level, whether you’re on the mat for the first time or deepening a practice you’ve held for years.

Our studios provide mats, props and lockers. Lockers run on a bring-your-own-lock policy, and every studio has a security door, so classes stay safe and uninterrupted from start to finish.

THIS MUST BE THE PLACE.

ONE COMMUNITY. THREE HOMES.

Most people in Berlin end up splitting their week across a yoga studio, a gym and somewhere to actually recover. We built SHA-LA so you don’t have to.

SHA-LA Waterfront is the one we’re proudest of. Set inside a 19th-century grain storehouse in the courtyard at Falckensteinstraße 47/48 in Kreuzberg, it’s a 300 sqm home for practice, wellbeing and teacher training — exposed brick, raw concrete columns and double-height arched windows opening onto the Spree. Designed by Studio Hamara, it was published in Yatzer, the international design and architecture magazine, which called it a place where raw concrete meets chrome. It’s the room people tell us they remember.

SHA-LA Prenzlauer Berg is our light-filled 175 sqm space at Kastanienallee 63 — mat classes, Pilates, sound baths and breathwork, from early morning to late evening.

SHA-LA Strength Training is our newest addition and Berlin’s newest dedicated strength studio, a few doors down at Kastanienallee 64. Coach-led barbell and dumbbell work, functional strength, small groups capped so your coach knows your name, and personal programmes written around your body and your life.

SHA-LA Wellbeing brings the recovery side — treatments designed to support the work you’re putting in everywhere else.

And the SHA-LA Academy runs trainings and intensives all year round, led by internationally renowned teachers — Sarah Powers, Ambra Vallo, Miles Mortensen, Rebecca Hannah and Franziska Gottschlich among them — alongside our 200-hour multi-style yoga teacher training. Whether you want to teach or simply go deeper in your own practice, there’s always something on the calendar.

One community, three homes. Strength, stillness and recovery — because a full practice needs all three.

JOANA REICHERTS

SHAHED NAJI

Joana Reicherts and Shahed Naji are the driving forces behind SHA-LA Studios. Having experienced the profound positive impact of yoga on their own well-being, they are passionate about creating a space that shares these benefits with the broader community.

Believing in the power of lifelong learning, Joana and Shahed strive to cultivate a yogic environment where participants are guided by experienced teachers with inspiring stories and diverse backgrounds. For them, SHA-LA is a community-focused space that empowers individuals on their journeys rather than placing the teachers at the center.
