30H YTT With Alex Perez - The Teacher’s Voice
DATES: November 28th–30TH, 2025
Time: 12.00 - 7.00 PM
This training is about learning the art of teaching yoga with clarity, intention, and professionalism.
Holding space and guiding a group requires specific skills, some that only come through experience, and others that can be studied, refined, and eventually mastered.
You’ll deepen your understanding of how to communicate effectively as a teacher, how to give clear, impactful instructions, and how to shape the energy of a class through your voice and presence.
⸻
What You’ll Learn
Basic & Refined Cueing
Explore the architecture of language in the context of teaching. From simple, effective instructions to more nuanced and layered forms of cueing, you’ll learn how to adapt your cues to different settings and students. We’ll also explore prosody; the rhythm, tone, and musicality of your voice.
Vocal Freedom
Connect your voice to your emotions through powerful vocal exercises. What we say is only part of what students receive; how we say it - our uniqueness, authenticity, and presence - is what makes our words meaningful and memorable.
Teaching Beginners
Learn the four pillars of inclusive teaching and how to welcome newcomers while still offering depth for more experienced students. You’ll build the confidence to make your classes accessible, empowering, and well-structured for all levels.
Holding Space
Explore the subtle qualities that make a teacher magnetic and trustworthy. Learn how details like room setup, music, silence, stories, eye contact, and nonverbal communication shape the space you hold and the energy you transmit.
Essentials of Mantra Singing
Gain the tools to integrate mantra and music into your classes; from choosing a chant, to finding your tone, to confidently leading a simple kirtan. You’ll discover how sound can become a natural and meaningful part of your teaching.
⸻
Outcomes
By the end of this training, you’ll be able to lead classes with more confidence, using your voice to guide students without needing to demonstrate every pose. You’ll know how to adapt your language for different bodies and levels, and to be truly authentic in your expression.
You’ll walk away with practical tools for cueing, sequencing, and communicating with purpose. You’ll be more attuned to your vocal presence, more skillful in your use of language, and more able to create connection and momentum through your teaching.
Touch the hearts rather than just the minds.
