MOVE FREELY, FOR LIFE
FLEXIBILITY, MOBILITY AND HANDSTAND CLASSES IN BERLIN — ACTIVE STRETCHING, JOINT MOBILITY, BACKBENDING AND INVERSIONS AT SHA-LA STUDIOS, FOR LIFTERS, YOGIS AND DESK WORKERS ALIKE.
ABOUT
FLEXIBILITY IS STRENGTH THROUGH RANGE
Flexibility at SHA-LA is not about collapsing into a pose. Our flexibility and mobility classes train active range of motion: strength at the end of your range, control in the hips, spine and shoulders, and the joint health that keeps you training for decades. Expect PNF stretching, loaded mobility, end-range holds and a lot of attention to how you breathe through it.
These classes sit between our yoga schedule and our strength studio on purpose. Lifters come to open their hips and thoracic spine, yogis come to build the strength that makes deep backbends and splits safe, and everyone else comes because their back hurts from sitting.

COMMUNITY
PATIENT, PRECISE, PLAYFUL
Flexibility work is slow by nature, so we keep it kind and curious. Classes are small, teachers give hands-on adjustments when you want them, and nobody is pushed beyond their range. Progress comes from showing up.
Many of these formats grew out of our Academy: The Art of Flex-Ability with Rebecca Hannah, the Method of Backbending with Lee, handstand intensives with Equihua. The weekly classes are where that knowledge lives all year.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
I am very inflexible. Is this for me?
Especially for you. Active flexibility training works from wherever you are and is far safer than forcing a stretch. Tell your teacher what feels tight.
How is this different from Yin yoga?
Yin uses long, passive holds to target fascia and calm the nervous system. Flexibility and mobility classes are active: you contract, load and control the range you are building. Both help, in different ways.
Will mobility training help my lifting?
Yes. Better hip, ankle and thoracic mobility means deeper squats, safer overhead pressing and fewer compensations. Our strength coaches recommend one mobility class a week.
Do you offer flexibility or handstand trainings?
Yes. See the Academy for the 20H Art of Flex-Ability training, the 25H Method of Backbending and the 15H Handstand Training.
